This painting is dated 1945 in the bottom left corner. Whereas the other paintings in the collection appear to have been completed after 1992, this one was painted when David was just 21 years old with no formal training in art. The crew has just returned from a raid and are being picked up by a truck at the dispersal to be driven to the base buildings for debriefing and breakfast.
