432 Squadron Halifax NP736 flew fifty-six operations as 'The Babe'. Whereas many other bombers carried some form of painted bombs to indicate completed operations, a clean diaper was added to the clothes line on 'The Babe' following her return from a bombing raid. It is thought that the nose art and name were inspired by wartime magazine covers that featured chubby-cheeked children with toy guns that urged Canadians to enlist.
