'Nobody's Hero'

Written to complement 'Nobody's Hero', the play by Larry MacKillop, the song tells the story of John Kinney, a Nanton-born farm boy who became an RCAF navigator and was shot down in a 10 Squadron Halifax. The sole-survivor, John suffered two broken and frozen feet and a broken back, was abused by a Nazi, and spent twenty-two months in hospitals. Following the war he attended university and raised a family, but sadly died early of his wartime injuries.
